In grade school I alternated between wanted to be a teacher then a "boss" (what ever that meant, I just knew I wanted to tell people what to do)
In the 5th grade I met a black woman who was an electrical engineer and I said I wanted to be that for a long time. When I realized what EEs really did, I changed it to "banker" because I loved money lol I interviewed with several banks right before graduating from college, and was even offered a job with one (what is now Wacovia after several mergers of course) but I turned it down to take another job.
I now work in HR (well, I would if I had a job! I had an interview on Monday though, and another scheduled for Thursday, so if you believe in the power of prayer, send one up for me!)
