Nope! Certification for OW is for all waters...there is one exception...if the altitude is over 1000' then there's a different certification, but you'd still need your OW certs anyway before getting specialty certifications...the OW cert is the most basic and allows you to dive to 60' down. You can dive the coral reefs with this OW cert.

Another question, is there any difference in certification between coral reef diving and freshwater spring diving? I'm asking because most divers I've been in contact with were diving in the one of million freshwater springs we have in Florida....but I want to dive and explore the coral reefs.
