Since I didn't get around to posting on this thread before since as EXiADPi said it was a week before my wedding... I was a little busy at that time... Anyways so back to the story of why I joined ADPi... Well first we have to go back to a phone call my roommate and I had before school started... We were calling to check what eachother was bringing and what we still needed... Then we started trying to get to know each other... Well she then mentioned that she was going to go through sorority recruitment... The first thing I said as soon as we ended the conversation was "Oh no I am going to be living with a Sorority Chick." So yes, I really did not think I would fit in with any of that... My mom, aunt and sister are all in sororities but I am nothing like them so I really had not interest... So anyways then I moved in with my roomie and she went through recruitment... She had a ball doing it too and was so happy when she received her bid... So after seeing how happy she was I thought I would look into it... So then I saw some flyers around campus for a recruitment event ADPi was having on Friday night... Now that is not the sorority my roomie had joined but she said she had liked that group as well and told me to go check it out... So anyways, after passing a booth that they had setup outside the Union about 5 times I finally signed up that I would be going to the event... So I was picked up at my res hall that friday night and taken to the all greek res hall... In the chapter room everyone was there... I was a bit nervous at first, but then they started doing Karaoke... They were having a ball and not caring that they were making total fools of themselves... It was great... It also helped when I looked around I didn't feel out of place... In most situations I do... This being because I am 6ft tall and not a small women... But in that room there were women of all sizes and even a few close to my height... So it ended up being just a comfortable setting...

So then the next day I was invited back up to the chapter room for an interview with some alum and district officers... Yes that was weird but at the same time they really showed how much they loved the sorority and made me feel comfortable very quickly... Then I was given a tour of the res hall and shown some of the rooms and what not...

Ok... so then finally came sunday... I was sitting in my room (which was a big mess at the time) when I got a phone call... It was one of the Adpi's checking to see if I was home and double checking where my room was... Well they said they would be coming by to see me... So of course I quickly tried to straighten my room a bit (mainly get rid of the huge trash bag that my roomie and I had been too lazy to take out)... well when they showed up they offered me a bid... At that moment I did not even have to think about it... I said yes... They then said they would come get me that afternoon for a "bid day" party... Because they were extending 8 or so bids that weekend they decided to hold a second bid day that semester...

Anyways, so I called up to tell my parents and they thought I was crazy... They really could not picture me in a sorority either... It was not till my dad came out for parents weekend and met everyone that he realized how much I really did fit in with Adpi... And now I would not give it up for the world...
