chance meetings
One story in particular comes to mind....
When I was in law school I was the Chief Production Editor on my law journal. My job was to do the last five edits and the final production process on every article we published. My favorite author to work with was a woman named M.C. Sungaila. I worked with M.C. for two years on a couple of articles and talked to her regularly. Right before I graduated from law school my roommate from college, who went to another law school across town, was interviewing for summer jobs at M.C.'s firm (she was a year behind me). Cindy got the job at M.C.'s firm and worked there through the whole summer without anyone finding out we were all Alpha Phis. It wasn't until the end of the summer when we were trying to make plans for the three of us to meet for dinner and Cindy mentioned something about rush that M.C. said, you're in a sorority? And Cindy said, yes, Laura and I are both Alpha Phis. It turns out M.C. was an Alpha Phi too, at Stanford. None of us could believe it took us so long to figure out that we were sisters but it gives us a good laugh every now and then.
aoe,
Laura
