Gideon has been released from the hospital. Looks like he will be ok. He has to wear the halo (a medical device that is screwed into his skull that keeps his head immobilized so his vertebrae will heal correctly) for the next 90 days. He's still in some pain, but feels very fortunate to have survived. I speak for the entire UIW undergraduate chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha when I say that we all are extremely grateful for his survival and continued recuperation.

Thanks for your kind words. I have passed them on to Gideon. Let us all continue to keep him in our prayers. He has a long recovery road ahead of him.

In his words in an email he sent to the chapter saturday...

Gentlemen,

As all of you probably heard I have been released from the hospital. My Evil Kenevil actions were not a success at all on the body. LoL I basically broke every bone on my upper right side separating it from the spinal cord. Every bone in my neck was fractured along with it. Life flight has never been such an awesome thing in my life as it was that night. The sound of the blades cutting through the air rocking the helicopter side to side was the best feeling ever- I knew I'd be ok. As for all the brothers that either came to visit, or just put me in their thoughts I appreciate it. Anyways typing with one hand is hard so I’m going to end with this...When I first came out of this and could think right, I felt that I cheated death because every doctor said I was a miracle in not dying and especially not suffering paralysis of any kind. Then I realized I didn’t cheat death, death put me back on my feet for a second chance. I believe strongly that we are all here for something, and my something has not come. Cherish life fellas and take it from me, you never know when its going to end. Love you guys...

Gideon
