New Orleans is the home of many famous "ass rappers", i.e. Mystikal, Cain and Abel and Juvenile...In fact, Juvenile lives in the same town as me. Got arrested for chasing a "dancer" that he picked up in the French Quarter down his street, ice pick in hand, after she flooded his bathroom. Anyway...
At first I was shocked by the lyrics to "Back that azz up" After a while, it didn't phase me, and then "Shake your ass" by Mystikal came out. That shocked me for a bit and then I got over it. Soon to follow was "Shake it like a Dog" and that one's still pretty offensive...
Its kinda upsetting how our culture is just desnsitized to messages that are so incredibly demeaning to women. Sometimes just changing the station isn't what's best. Sometimes things get so out of hand that people should start talking about them and decide if its something they want as a part of society.
