wishinhopin, I strongly encourage you to try bringing a new sorority to your campus - either local or NPC. Seems to me that if 50 girls were rushing for 15 spaces, that's 35 girls who want to be in a sorority and didn't get into Gamma Phi. 35 girls is a viable colony - heck, my local sorority had only 10 members when we became a colony of AEPhi, and only 22 when we were chartered - and that's on a campus where chapter total was 80!
If bringing an NPC sorority to your campus doesn't work out immediately, by all means, start a local. Even if your local doesn't become part of a regional or national sorority, you will still get many of the benefits of Greek life, including sisters you'll have forever.
Good luck!
