A curious trend here on forums... When people can't find statistics to support their side, some tend to resort to hostility and silliness in an effort to detract from the point. Now, let's get back to the point in a civil matter, shall we? I have shown no one disrespect, and, in turn, I expect none leveled towards me.

Someone on this forum said, "Anyone who has written a paper knows you can find statistics to prove just about any point you want to prove if you work it a certain way. "

I think that's an interesting statement since no one has been able to come up with any statistics refuting those I've posted.

Also, regarding Dr. Phil's website. If one had been reading my posts closely, one would know that I was not quoting Dr. Phil, but a study done by the Boston Herald which was posted on Dr. Phil's website.

I seem to have struck a nerve on this topic. Had people been paying attention to my posts, they would know I am not judging anyone. I have no objections to anyone living with another before marriage. It is not for me to judge. I just don't feel it's right for me.

When one chooses to do so, they are probably best served to look at the statistics. The statistics (of which no one has been able to refute yet) do clearly point that the odds are against you if you live together before marriage. Again, the odds can be beaten, but then, one needs to know the risks and decide for themselves before taking them.

Once again, how sad that people think they need to launch grenades at someone just because they disagree with their point of view. If one looks back to the original poster-- she was looking for help. If you do not agree with my opinion, that is certainly your right. However, it weakens your position when you attack the person-- rather than the idea.
