It depends on whether you can watch one right after the other (Tivo or taping). If I could stay up and watch both, I'd do American Idol live and Lost right afterwards. But since I work at 7am, I'm doing Lost. Maybe I'll tape AI to watch the next day, but I think AI is going to be a landslide. The AI finale's in the past have also been very boring.
