I just found this out today, but there are several scholarships available through the Daughters of the American Revolution. Usually for $1,000 a year (for four years), some are general, while others are for almost any major. Sadly, many go unused, due to the lack of publicity.
And you do NOT have to be a member, or even a woman!

Many chapters also award scholarships for various reasons; my own chapter awards $1,000 a year. With the costs of college today, and the additional expense of fraternity or sorority dues, a thousand dollars can be quite a help. Good luck to all who apply!
