Hello everyone. i hopr you all dont mind me posting here. I kinda agree with what most of you are saying about not paying the athlete and giving them stipends, but it seems that most of you are talking about athletes that attend the big money schools. What about the athletes that attend the HBCU's or the small private schools that get scholorships that sometimes doesnt even cover half of tution, let alone books. Im an athlete, but i still live in a SMALL dorm room, still have to do workstudy, and still have to come up with tution money. what about us. we are not allowed to get jobs, and with some of the sports that we play, its like we do it year round, so what about us. i see it like this; the coach is getting paid and looking glorious off of the athletes, so the athletes shoud at least be able to get something in return. thats why we have so many young athletes going straight to the pro's out of high school, because the money is attractive. why should they go to college and work hard just to be able to get enough money to pay tuition while most of their families are still living in poverty when they can go to the pro's and make MILLIONS and be able to support their family. but this is just my opinion.
hope everyone has a nice day.
