I don't mean to crash or step on the toes of your friend's mom SummerChild but her quote sounds a lot like it was based on the American essayist, poet and philosopher, who lived in the 1800s, a Mr. Henry David Thoreau. His quote is
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."
