And by the way, I never actually SAID that the two were separate. I did somewhat compare the two. There are different beliefs between the two. So dont be so quick to jump on me.

Baptists are Protestants...
Okay to compare Christanity to Catholicism is like comparing America to Ohio; one is part of the other... and carrying the analogy further to compare Baptists to Protestants is a bit like comparing Kansas to the Mid-West.
Right now back to the history lesson - the Catholic Bible is technically the Chirstian Bible... it's just that when other denonomations split from the Catholic faith in "protest" some of the things they disagreed with was the cannonical nature of some books or chapters in the Bible - so yes the King James differs slightly from the Catholic texts; but other Protestant faiths have textual differences from each other - it all depends on where they choose to draw their origin from in the history of Bibilical scholarship and translation.
