Also, there's getting permission to be in some of the groups and telling them that you're de-activating your account.
I know that it doesn't seem like much, but be-friending 100 people as opposed to a few clicks of taking off your picture and hiding your groups/friends seems a bit easier from that perspective.

I'm going to have to agree with the people who think problems like the above - having to "remake your friends/groups on Facebook" is super lame and a little off priority
