I hate it when people compare individual A's situation to individual B's situation and say "why can't A do what B did"...but I'll do it here.

Remember Ced the Entertainer? He rode the wave, blew up large in our community, had a national show which .....didn't bust a grape, comedically. He just went back to being the funniest stand up out there IMO. (I was going to say the funniest comic out there pound-for-pound, but Ced is carrying a few lbs these days so I'll hold off on that one.)

...but then no one has handed me $50 million yet and said "now be funny" so maybe I'm wrong.
I bolded the key word that makes Cedric different from Dave Chapelle.

Dave has crossed over, Cedric hasn't(which is why his show didn't work). Yeah Cedric is kinda known, but not like Dave is now. There's a reason why The Dave Chapelle show is the biggest selling DVD of all time, it's not just us buying and watching him.

I think for Dave, the show has gone from a bunch of him and his friends doing a fun show and putting out skits they thought was funny, to a lot of pressure to top themselves and it's just not fun anymore. There's probably in house fighting between everyone as well (which is sad).

AKA2D'91: Yeah Cedric did a great job! He's getting there no doubt, but Dave can't even go to Disneyland with his kids without people of all races yelling "I'm Rick James B****!" lol
