Sorors and Sisterfriends....
On March 23, 1974, the University of Alabama witnessed the birth of the first African-American Sorority on its predominately white campus. Following the example set forth by our Beloved 22 founders, the Elite Eleven of the LAMBDA ZETA chapter set a precedent that my chapter of initiation continues to follow 27 years later.

I am so proud to say that we have implemented many programs on our campus. My chapter has many programs throughtout the year coordinated in conjunction with Delta's Five Point Thrust. A few of the programs that I am most proud of are: the Delta Book club, Adopt a Freshman mentoring program, we do Trick or Treat for UNICEF, Stillman Heigths Tutoring Program, Financial and Career Planning Seminars. And last school year one of our largest programs was held in conjunction with World Aids Awareness Day...we brought our DiSTinguished Soror, Rae Lewis Thornton on our campus to educate us on this terrible disease which is ravaging our communities at such an alarming rate.

I am sorry Sorors that this was so long Needless to say as you all can see, my chapter of initiation is my heart and I am so proud of all of the work we have accomplished as a collegiate chapter. I'm sure you all can see who runs the yard!!!

OOOOO-OOOOOP
