The GLOs at my school had "switch" parties (essentially, mixers) during pledging. They rotated each week so that every fraternity would "switch" with every sorority. (Or almost every other GLO, depending on your chapter).
The day after a switch party, the pledges would wear the other GLO's letters (so the sorority sisters would give the fraternity pledges a T-shirt or sweatshirt with letters and vice-versa). *Of course, the pledges would
return the shirt a few days later.*
The idea was to let the pledges get to know all of the GLOs on campus a little better. But they never "switched" pledges, just the letters.
