I am not a Delta, but like you I am interested in joining Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
You mentioned that you have been doing community service, so there are probably Deltas in your organization and you just don't know it.
Also look elsewhere besides the organization in which you do community service. Look in your church, your school, your neighborhood. Deltas are everywhere.
I have been learning from an advisor at my school for about a year and just found out that she was a Delta.
There is another lady that I speak to on a weekly basis for about nine months, guess what? She's a Delta.
So, I think your next steps should be
Continue you on your path on community service.
Be yourself.
Do your thang, and as hard as it may be, do not concentrate on finding Deltas and they will come to you, if they believe you are Delta material.
Participate in forums like these and Deltanet, don't just read but post.
Continue to do your research and learn as much as you can about Delta and when the time comes you will be ready.
