Fist-sized balls of flesh and bones that clogged water lines in Carroll came from an animal, not a human, Iowa Department of Natural Resources officials said Tuesday.
The substances were first tested by the forensic lab at the state medical examiner's office. They were sent Tuesday to the U.S. Department of Agriculture lab in Ames, where more tests should show what kind of animal they came from.
