No. We have a hard enough time finding Alum to help us out because people don't tend to stick around Chico, let alone an "adult" who would be willing to sacrifice much of their time and attention to something like that. Also, most greek houses are rented, and range from 10-20 people per house.

I'm 22 and live in my sorority house. I think this idea is ridiculous. Sorry but i consider myself an adult. The faculty advisor idea is a good one, although it will be truly difficult as most of the faculty does not like greeks.

i think you meant speech. and yes of course he received pressure.
so I do not by any means represent my school or greek system, but here are some notes from a chico sorority girl and a person who sat in the front row during the speech (hehe):
I wanted to point out that this line: " We have to stop meeting like this. Truly, we must." was meant as a joke...in fact Zingg had to mention it was a joke because the audience was so paralyzed by his presence. But he laughed...anyway. He is a pretty scary speaker, and although i was upset with some of the things he said (" To the extent that you are now, you will no longer be drinking
clubs masquerading as fraternities and sororities." a pretty ignorant comment coming from a greek and a president of a university) I think he is trying his best to fix this situation.
at first i was mad - why do greeks get singled out all the time? then i talked to my mom and realized that its because we choose to make ourselves stand out and hold ourselves and each other to HIGHER standards. most average college students do crazy shit all the time and no one cares because they are AVERAGE. all Zingg is asking is for us to remember that we are above average college students (or should be), and i really hope we can deliver his promise.
I know there are steps being taken to kind of "flush" out the greek system. I can't get into specifics but things are changing DRAMATICALLY. Even with sorority rush, which let me tell you none of us are happy about. But there are some good changes too.
I also just wanted to add that i don't mind answering anyones questions about chico through PMs as long as you are respectful. Some things you might want to know but I wouldnt be willing to post for everyone to see. Just a thought.
