high school cliques social

We are having a social with two fraternities with the theme of 'high school cliques'. I mean, there are obviously some cliques that come to mind, but i'm trying to think of specific costume ideas that make them obvious.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!!

Cheerleaders
Jocks
Nerds
Goths

Is it really that challenging to think of costume ideas for these cliques?

No, see I can come up with things, but some of them aren't so 'obvious' or any different than the way people still dress everyday unless its overly done. I know people who still dress like 'jocks' or are nerdy and they don't stand out or look different than anyone else really.

I suppose I just need an amplified version of all of these things to make them more obvious.

I see. Well, good luck and have fun!

When we have it guys come in their high school football jerseys for jocks, "Class of ___" shirts for SG dorks, all black with eyeliner for goths, etc. I would hope you aren't in college and still wearing any of that stuff...

When I thought of jocks, it wasn't people in jerseys..but that works. And I definitely see people around in their 'class of ___' shirts, unfortunately.

I go to the largest school in the country..I see a great mix of people every day. You'd be amazed.

We had this theme last year (did you go Phi Gam?)

I dressed up as an "Emo" girl. I already had it in my dresser from high school =) I wore black leggings, purple eyeshadow, ballet flats, and a band t-shirt.

We had (obviously)

Jocks (workout clothes, uniforms, etc)
Nerds (suspenders, tape on glasses)
Hippies (tye dye, peace signs)
Art Lovers (skinny jeans, pencils/paintbrush in a bun)
Emo
Goth (all black, eyeliner, fake piercings)
Cheerleaders (full uniforms)
Etc...

I wasn't asking if you were a Phi Gam, i was asking another GCer if he went to the social, which we had with his fraternity :)

Good luck on finding something cute to wear!

Some more ideas...

"Band Geeks" - marching band uniform or carry a flute ;)
"Drama Queens" - wear rennaisance costume
"Braniacs" - carry SAT study book
"Student Govt" - wear "VOTE FOR" pins, etc.
"Yearbook committee" - carry a camera or notebook
