Navy Sigma

So, I have an interesting question and am looking for anyone out there with an answer. I am a Tri-Sigma in the Navy Reserve...I am mobilizing to Afghanistan for a year, and I am completely unsure about the process of comming back, or even my status in the sorority...if anyone can let me know, please do Thanks!!!

Two things, good luck abroad. You are a braver person than I and am proud that one of my sisters will be fighting the good fight.

Second, of course you will still be a sister while you are in Afghanistan. Speak to your chapter President, she will be able to help you work on your status. You, for obvious reasons, will most likely not be responsible for local dues, but due to the timing in the semester of you leaving, will most likely be responsible for national dues. Again, talk to your chapter president. Please, leave us an address so your sisters can send you packages while you are in Afghanistan. Thanks!

Best of luck to you, and be safe of course!

The best thing for you to do is talk to your chapter president, she should have all of the info about inactive status (which is something that you'd need to submit some paperwork for). If she's unsure about anything, the next best person would be your chapter advisor.

Well, my chapter said I have to go alum...cuz im not going to school anymore, how would I go about becoming an active sister again once I come back? Are there rules on that, or what? I am so confused.

There is no such thing as going "alum" and coming back as an active sister. Please, call NHQ or e-mail your LC, they will help you.
