University of Illinois Alpha Xi Delta recruitment
Congrats to the new Alpha Xi Delta colony at U of I. Looks like recruitment was a huge success! Per one of our newest members, there were 200+ girls that went through Alpha Xi’s recruitment process, and while they had the opportunity to take up to 165, bids were extended to 125 women.
Tonight kicks off Greek Week, have a fantastic time girls! We are very proud of you! Soon as I get some pics I’ll post. :):):) |
hello, i just want to correct some of the information that i had previously told xigapeach and others... i just found out that 133 bids were extended out of........400+ women who rushed!!!!!!!!!! sorry for the false info!
|
I think the difference is between number of bids handed out and number who have definately accepted. Eight women were out of town. I am under the impression they have given verbal, positive responses so the number should be 133 by the end of the week.

Wow! What a cool house to have right away. Did AXiD buy it from another group?
|
AXiD's, please correct me, but as I understand it is Phi Sigma Kappa's house. And you are just leasing the first floor for this school year?
So are some of the Phi Sigs still living on the upper floors? I'm curious to know how this is working. It looks like a beautiful home; congratulations! |
IIRC, Phi Sigma Kappa was kicked off campus and Alpha Xi is leasing the house from them for two years, using the downstairs as a meeting and hang out area this year and allowing the new sisters to live in in Fall 2009.
Please correct me if I am mistaken. |
Clarification
Yes, the house is owned by the men of Phi Sigma Kappa, and we are very thankful they've agreed to lease it to us until their chapter returns to U of I -- I hear their alums have been terrific to work with every step of the way. The lease is for two years, with options on our part to extend for up to five years. This year Alpha Xi will use the first floor for meetings, Monday night dinners, studying, etc., while the upstairs is being renovated for Fall 2009 move in. All very exciting for our newest sisters!!!

Cute pics - thanks for sharing!

I heard some of the girls from Miami of Ohio (who hosted our preference party) snuck upstairs and said it totally still looks like a frat house up there, but the first floor looks like a sorority minus furniture. Its going to be fantastic when its all done up.
