Starting from scratch or start a new chapter?
Hi! I have been wanting to start my own fraternity with a couple of my friends at our university campus. However, I am unsure if we should start from scratch or just start a new chapter of an existing fraternity. Any advice?
Why would people want to start a new chapter and follow other people's traditions and beliefs, when they could just start their own brand new fraternity and have their names as the fraternity founding fathers? I'm confused. |

Creating a brand new fraternity is a LOT of work. You have to have a very motivated core group of like minded individuals who all want to do it. Too often there are 15 people who start something like this and one who finishes.
Also, many schools do not recognize local fraternities. They prefer for all the fraternities to be affiliated w/ national groups that carry insurance for any mishaps that might occur. |

If everyone had the "why join an existing group when I could start my own" mentality, fraternities and sororities simply would not exist. New members are the lifeblood of every GLO. How would you get new members if no one wants to join an existing group? |

MarqueX And one dose of DYORS per day may help you opening up... May cause lethargy, astigmatism, priaprism, conjunctivis, partuition and possible fellatio... Ask your doctor if you feel exorcism might be right for you... DYORS is for you! Doing your own research, soon... Not on GC... |
