help

i don't know if any of you can help me with this but i need some kind of advice on ways to kind of help me prepare at this point for informal recruitment this spring because i was notified at the last minute that i can't do formal recruitment this fall. its going on now and its the most depressing thing in the world for me,e specially because i am a sophomore, so i feel like i have been missing out all this time, and a lot of my friends CAN do recruitment. so i guess my main questions are is there anything i can do to somehow make my chances better for getting snapped in spring/doing spring informal, and also just tips on staying positive this semester while i watch my roommate and some of my friends do what i've been looking forward to for ages. thanksguys.

May I ask why you cannot go through formal recruitment? That might help us give you appropriate suggestions on how to "deal".

So, according to your first post, you were extended bids through COB, which takes place for upperclassmen before Formal Recruitment in the Fall.

Now you can't go through Formal Recruitment.

Why does your story not make sense?

cant believe i forgot that! i cant do recruitment because i accepted a bid in the spring and depledged after a relatively short time. i didnt know about the one year rule until now. i know im ignorant.

to OTW: i am an upperclassman. i did that first because i didnt know if id have enough time with extracurriculars etc (i do club cross country) to do formal recruitment.. apparently formal recruitment is much more regulated on my campus b/c no one said anything during COB to me..

Make friends in chapters. Do the best you can in your classes. Watch your behavior while out. At most campuses, few if any chapters will be participating in spring informal recruitment. I don't know how competitive your school is with regards to a junior going through in fall formal recruitment.
