Big/Little Revealing Ideas?
 

Hey everyone!! I just got placed with NM Coordinator, SO i'm new to the game and for big/little night this year i want to do something mysterious, fun, and exciting without hazing!!! Does anyone have any good ideas for Big/Little Revealing? We have 16 NMs which brings my little chapter (47) to total!:) We are veryyyy excited to start this semester off right so we cant afford to lose any girls. I feel like it's all on me and this is only my second semester as a sister! PLEASE let me know if you have any ideas for Big/lilttle revealing!

You can have the Bigs leave little hints for their Littles througout the week, then have them dress up in things that represent their hints and let the Littles match up based on that. It can be a fun and kooky way to do things.

Do a search for that since we've talked about this many times! If you have a smallish class, you can do a candle lighting. We would pass the candle around a circle of sisters while singing with the NM in the center. The Bigs were supposed to blow out the candle, but girls would hesitate or pretend to blow out the candle to keep the New Member in the middle guessing.

Sorry, FSUZeta. Please don't take offense. 1. I didn't even realize that this was on the ZTA forum since I accessed it from the today's posts. 2. I wasn't telling her that to be snarky. I was saying that because I know there are tons of threads that probably have really great ideas that she might like. If I was being mean, I wouldn't have gone on to give an idea. Sorry if I offended you, and in the future I'll be more careful to be more clear and apologize for butting in. I just really always liked the candlelighting reveal!

What school are you in? I go to indiana u of Pa... Gamma XI chapter.:)
How do you reveal big/lilttles?

Congrats to IUP!! Love to see all the PA Zetas!! Did you know that we are 2nd to Texas for number of active ZTA chapters!!

Looking at the bid day pics link from TX (http://www.takeourpicture.com/cgi-bin/cart_index.exe), there is also a link for the big/little reveal - it looks like they did a costume matching theme? E.g. big had a bacon costume and little had an egg costume? Might be complicated but definetely very cute and unique!

We do the candle pass as well, and I like it, because I think it adds a bit of a symbolic touch to the revealing before the big/little ceremony.

After the ceremonies, we do a poster exchange as well. Littles make the bottom part of a strawberry and bigs do the top... And the big gets to keep the strawberry. It is fun :)

But I never got to experience being in the middle of the candle pass. My year was the last year littles picked bigs, so it was the bigs who were surprised. And the next year when I got my little, it was the littles who didn't know. We got told the morning of the revealing who we got!

This is getting me excited!
 

I am a brand new zeta... and we're about to start big/little week!

I come from a newer chapter and we were told that we should only do the big / little ritual. We do the costume / dress up thing after the ritual.

Our chapter was also told that we cannot do anything before hand to reveal the matches, they should be revealed at the ritual.

I actually just found out that we are only supposed to do the Big/Little ritual. So i guess i wont be doing the candle pass and it takes a lot of fun out of it but i guess anything else besides the ritual would be considered hazing.. it's unfortunate because i think it would have been a very nice and non-scary experience for the new members.
