PETA urges Ben & Jerry's to use human milk

This was discussed on another website, I kind of thought it was just a rumor until I just watched it on the news.

I understand that cow's milk does bad things to humans, I've experienced it from Lactose Intolerance and female problems, but there's got to be a better alternative.

I do think there should be something done about the added hormones in milk. I wonder why it is so hard to find organic dairy products. Only a few places carry organic cheese, butter, and yogurt....when I do find them, it's expensive as hell. And only one place that I know of have organic ice cream. I assume it is because it is more expensive to create organic products, but aren't hormones expensive too? Can someone who knows more about cows than I do shed some light on this?

PETA needs to STFU and STFD

that's a lot of capital letters.

PETA can be so lame sometimes. I mean really, breast milk in ice cream?! Are they nucking futs? I would stop eating ice cream all together.

Ugh, I hate PETA. They're like the Paris Hilton of charities. They're publicity whores. They say stupid stuff to get into newspapers, blogs, tabloids, etc. They start feuds with other celebrities. They spend more time promoting themselves than working on what they should be working on (helping animals for PETA, acting and singing lessons for Paris). They're both more style than substance (holding controversial protests like this NSFW one or getting celebrities to pose nude for PETA, dressing like a skanky whore for Paris). They get all the publicity while charities/rescue groups and actresses/singers that aren't out publicity-whoring because they're too busy working on their cause/craft are under-recognized.

Ok first i thought this was a joke expecting a link to theonion.com. Claeraly this on PETA's part was not meant to be a joke. Maybe someone at PETA should bother to stop and read a B&J carton.

If they did they'd find this statement "We oppose Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone. The family farmers who supply our milk and cream pledge not to treat their cows with rBGH. The FDA has said no significant difference has been shown and no test can now distinguish between milk from rBGH treated and untreated cows. Not all the suppliers of our ingredients can promise that the milk they use comes from untreated cows."

So while B&J does use cows milk is your going to a pick on a company for their use of animal porducts don't choose the company started by hippies that on their website have a whole section devoted to their charity and outreach programs.

Seriously this is ridiculous.... Please excuse me while i go enjoy a big bowl of Ben & Jerry's cow milk made ice cream!!!!!

Just one of the reasons that PETA cannot be taken seriously.

Cows milk does bad things to some humans, and cows milk with growth hormones or the like may do bad things to more humans. But most humans have been drinking cows milk with little problem for thousands of years.

The first line was hilarious, but this whole post made my morning.

Oh, and yesterday while I was reading about this on another board, someone brought up that PETA supports anti pit bull legislation AND euthanasia of ALL pit bulls, whether they are violent or not.

Eat a dick, PETA.

D - do you have Martin's/Giant in your area? They seem to have a fairly large selection of organic & soy stuff and better prices than Whole Foods.
