Dangle Question
I have a question about dangles.....Is it appropriate to only wear dangles for offices you held during your college years? Or if you held an office for your alumnae chapter, can you wear the appropriate dangle for that?

There are dangles for alumnae offices .. I have one for alumnae president... its the gavel with an "A" superimposed on it.

Yeah, the Herf-Jones website that KAT emailed out to me has alumnae dangles, so I guess you can add them on! Also the ELC who visited had her college dangles in addition to her ELC dangle.

I was under the impression that it was just fine. A couple of the ELC's we had wore their collegian dangles too.

if you want to get technical, there's no specific theta rule about dangles at all-at least not in our constitution and bylaws.
Some alumnae don't wear their guard, or have connected their badges to a spouse's fraternity pin, or have removed the dangles because they're too cumbersome, or they have 'em all. Some 'upgrade' their badges. IMHO, as long as you don't overshadow the badge itself, it's entirely up to you. My personal badge has 3 college dangles and 3 alum dangles and I'm at about the limit. :) Then again, I don't wear my badge very often as I have others I like better.... |
