Editing homemade DVD

I want to copy a homemade DVD to my PC so I can edit it.
Does anyone know how?

There are a few free (or cheap) programs that can do it, but it's relatively difficult and inefficient (time-consuming and a resource hog on your computer).

Probably the simplest/cheapest way is to use a combo of AVS Video Editor and AoA Ripper. You'll have to convert to .mpg this way, but you'll have to do that either way - you just won't be able to work "on the fly."

i should just try to find someone who knows what they're doing and ask them to do it for me

It's fairly cheap to pay a media duplication dude to edit for you

I think I figured it out!
I downloaded Magic DVD Ripper, then used an online program at dvdvideosoft.com

I had my first ultrasound the other day, and there were lots of boring parts and dead spots. I cut an 18 minute video down to 6....yay!
