I Get High!
I knew this would get your attention! Have ya'll heard this song by a guy named Afro Man titled "I Get High" One of our radio stations has been debating over whether or not to play it and has asked for our opinions. Some say that the song promotes the use of weed. Others feel that it is a anti-drug song because they guy states all the things he didn't/couldn't do because he got high. You be the judge! Personally I think the song is retarded and shouldn't be played. I feel that we have enough songs that promote (for lack of a better word) self-hate:(

I don't think they should play it, but they probably will.

How did HE get a record deal???
That song is only played by one station down here (the same one that seems to 'forget' to edit certain words from J. Lo's I'm real song.... ) and I must say, that is the dumbest ish I have EVER HEARD. I don't know if anyone has heard, but MTV refuses to air it, unless Afroman changes some lyrics, and some scenes in the music video.
It IS possible that he could be sending an anti drug message with the song, but some people might interpret it otherwise. Nowadays...they give ANYONE a record deal.... |
I've heard the song. I thought it was pure Nonsense. Didn't make me mad. I was just thinking..."Wow, they actually made a song out of this."

Pretty Kitty,
I don't think that song has made it up to NYC yet either. But hey, Hot97 has played more than their fair share of controversial songs. |

"I Got High" HAS made it up here to NYC and WKTU plays it on occasion. My little brother told me about this song, and when I heard it, I LMAO!!! :D The song is a bit silly, and I wanna know how he got a record deal? But if I had my choice, I'd listen to it just to LMAO because there are days when I need a good laugh.
