BAMA RUSH HELP

Hey yall, I recently got into Bama (for fall 09) and was wondering if anyone who goes to the school/advisors/etc, can help me get my stuff together. Such as, how many recs for each, important things to do, info about panhellenic weekend, etc. I've contacted my local panhel and they said they would start getting recs together for me and scheduling meet and greets with local alumni, but im out of state and want to make sure i dont miss anything. thanks and g'bless. :)
ps i know its early but rush just ended so might as well get info and help while its fresh:p haha

There are many threads on here about Alabama rush. Try searching. There is one that was very recent.

What she said. In addition to the 'Bama rush threads, take some time to read the General Advice threads in the recruitment forum.

That was one of them. Keep reading.

That is one that will work - even thought it is closed there is some good info in it. Some of the posts (regrettably from older women) are an example of what NOT to do and say.

Bamabell,
A good place to start is asking teachers, counselors, church friends, parents' co-workers if they were NPH sorority members. They will be the ones you should ask to write references for you. Once you start asking, you be amazed at how many women are greek and happy to help you out.

Also, it has been said to search this board. That's great advice. There is a lot of tremendous information here, so dive in!

Good luck!

Make sure you keep up your grades this year and stay involved. Most importantly, have fun your senior year and don't worry about recruitment this early.

We should have a GC gallery where we can post pics we want to use for future posts. Someone should start a GC photobucket or something.

Respectfully, I disagree about it being too early. In recent years alum groups have started scheduling PNM teas already before Christmas. Panhellenic letter writing also gets started before/around Christmas. Plus, if someone is looking for Recs from women they have never met before this gives the alum plenty of time to get to know her.

thank you zillini :)
