Put your money where your mouth is... ;)

This is hilarious... Hey, it make look like spam, but it is interesting that folks would "bet" on a political outcome...

So folks: put your money where your mouth is...

Isn't that what all of us who have donated to a campaign are doing? :p

InTrade is actually a fantastic site - you should honestly check it regularly, even if you're not playing a market. It's the ultimate exercise in the law of large numbers and all that good stuff.

Did you go to the site? What are the odds your candidate will win?

Yes, I did go there. I wasn't trying to be rude, just making the point that I would rather put my money straight into Obama's campaign than to gamble it. In that sense, I have put my money where my mouth is. :)

I'm not the target audience for that site, anyway, since trading on politics strikes me as straight up gambling and I don't gamble. I'll probably keep watching it, just for curiosity sake.

I have also put my money where my mouth is in the form of campaign contributions =) That's saying a lot for the college student.

Oh, it's definitely "gambling" in the sense that you're taking odds under the assumption or idea that the "true" odds are better than what you're taking (and in the sense that a few people have a big edge in handicapping, but most people will be small losers in the long run).

Still, it's really interesting to see how the market moves and what forces dictate shifts. It's nerdy as hell, but really interesting.
