FIU Recruitment Story
 

Hi guys! Today was my first day of recruitment at FIU and I thought I would start a thread. I don't really have much to say yet since the first night was mostly telling the girls what sororities are on campus and meeting our rho gammas. Tomorrow is our real first day going to visit all the sororities. I'm super excited and soo nervous. I can't help but worry that I'm going to screw up somehow but I'm hoping for the best. This year we have about 450 girls going through recruitment which is a lot for us. Wish me luck!

I haven't really decided yet. I think I'll decide when I have something more specific to say.

Hey, I think Sigma Kappa is a new colony at FIU this year!

Yeah, but they're not participating in formal recruitment for the sororities- they're dropping out after tonight and will be doing their own recruitment week toward the end of this month.

Ok I didnt have a chance to update this earlier today about yesterday's event but today I'm way too excited to not share this. Yesterday was long and tiring and I spent a lot of time worrying that the girls wouldnt click with me and invite me back. It happened that one of the sororities I ranked for today didnt invite me back and the one I didn't really feel a connection with did. I dont feel it was a great loss because deep down I felt that I wouldnt have fit in at the sorority that dropped me. However, one of the sororities that I had really liked on paper and from pre-recruitment events did invite me back and it made me so happy because I had been worrying about it. Now on to tonight. It was sooo amazing!!! All the girls were great and I have no idea how I'm going to pick between two of them. I can really see myself in either one and I left both parties feeling a real connection and I think they did too. I could not be more excited for tomorrow or more hopeful for sunday (bid day). I'm just so happy that I went through this and I've already had a chance to meet so many incredible girls. Wish me luck!!!!

Ok long story short bid day is over and I got my first choice and could not be happier!! I'm a baby panda! Alpha Omicron Pi <3

FWIW, Sigma Kappa will begin meeting with PNM's starting on the 30th of this month.

CONGRATS TO YOU! I'm so happy! Hopefully I'll run into you one day to say hi in person! I was there to watch some of my favorite sisters and my lovely AOII Rho Gamma friend come off stage today!

Maybe we'll get an update from FIUPanther, too!
