NAACP Music Image Awards
It was on tonight from 9pm-10pm on the WB. Did anyone else watch? If so, share your thoughts here. However, I just remembered something! I guess we better wait. I wouldn't want to ruin it for those on the west coast and in between! :o

It was okay...
Okay, I will try not to spoil it for the others...:D Basically, I thought that you could tell that they were trying to fit everything into the hour that they had (who ever heard of a ONE HOUR AWARDS SHOW?! :confused: ) It could have been classier, like how the main Image awards show is....
I thought Yolanda Adams looked really nice. I also liked Jill Scott's performance, I thought it was really jazzy. I was feeling that. I just had a few questions though.... 1. What was up with Biz Markie? Why did he look like he just rolled outta bed and got up on stage and did his thang? What was up with the wifebeater? Damn, at least put a shirt on. 2. I don't understand how Kirk Franklin got nominated in the Hip Hop category?! :confused: I listen to gospel, but I do know that song he was nominated for wasn't all that big. It didn't have crossover status. 3. What was up with Beyonce's wig? Michelle and Kelly had afros, she had this long afro thingamajig on her head. What was that?! I guess they wanted her to be noticed. It worked, because for a while, Michelle and Kelly just blended in with all them dancers they had on stage. The show gets 2.5 stars out of five. It could have been better. It was somewhat classy, but it still could have been better. |
Yes, I agree with you. I was expecting it to be on two hours. They only had eight categories, I believe.
Yolanda Adams - 3 R. Kelly - 2 LL Cool J - 1 Stevie Wonder - 1 Destiny's Child - 1 I've noticed that Michelle does most of the talking when Destiny's Child accepts awards. Perphaps she is the most fluent in the English language? :p I like Sinbad, but why did they pair him with Brandy as co-hostess? Why was Mary, Mary singing over their song? Do the words "instrumental music" mean anything to them? Yolanda Adams looked stunning. Her third acceptance speech was kind of funny when she spoke of her song touching people in different cultures. She said Koreans and Asians, then realized Koreans are Asian. Did you hear LL's acceptance speech? He told the other nominees better luck next time! lol Jill Scott was excellent! |

I thought Jill Scott gave the best performance. She was classy and was backed by a strong band and background vocalists.
