NAACP Music Image Awards
Um, doesn't the NAACP have more pressing matters than ANOTHER tired music video awards show? If this is another bid to show that Black people are geat consumers and make money for the music industry, everyone already knows. I don't know why there is another award, unless it's to directly contrast the Source Awards. Why couldn't this just stay with the regular Image Awards?
As soon as I saw Brandi was the co-host, I knew this was going to be corny. R. Kelly wins for outstanding music video, when Janet's video had better CGI, Jill, Eric, and Mary J.'s videos had more spirit, etc? Then he wins again for outstanding male performer? Over Eric or Brian or D' ? I don't know, seriously. I was glad to see Yolanda's outfit, that girl can show some decolletage (sp)!! And Tamia's clown and Salley's response were good. LOL As much as I love Sinbad, his writers aren't hittin. Are any of y'all liking this? These shows are all starting to run together in my mind. ;) |
I feel your anger when it comes to blacks making billions for the music industry. Some times it just makes me wanna holler when I think about how our natural performance abilities are honed to the max, and yet there is far less interest when it comes to molding our children into great giants of science, math, and historical knowledge. If just 10% of the energy that we (as a race) invest in singers and athletes was channeled into unifying us and strengthening us for the next century, we would all be better off!
As for brother Sinbad....well.... was he EVER funny? My mother never thought so! (lol):D |
I thought Sinbad was hilarious on his specials and on Star earch. I only regret that I never got to go to a SoulFest.
Any show that can only be broadcast within one hour doesn't seem like it was financially successful. |
