My bff wants to go, and she's trying to talk me into going with her. I do want to go. However, I'm a contract employee and I don't have vacation days, so I would have to see if my boss would let me do 10-hour days so I could take that Friday off. I'm still debating whether I want to do that.

If I go, I want to see Vampire Weekend, Jenny Lewis, The Fratellis, Back Door Slam, John Fogerty, Robert Plant, Nicole Atkins, Tegan and Sara, and The Raconteurs.

Anyone in here going to Austin's City Limits this year? It's almost here and i'm super excited! Most especially for Eli Young Band! I missed their sold out show last year, but I'm definitely going this time! And it's even better cause the shows about a week after their new album comes out! OMG right now I'm really lovin their When it Rains video and it's even on CMT's 12 Pack countdown! http://www.cmt.com/shows/dyn/cmt_pur...n/series.jhtml
I hope they'll get to play some old songs too at City Limits, cause their first album was what really got me into them. The songs are just really great, very positive lyrics, and just a feel-good cd over all. Any Eli fans here? Such a good lookin group of guys too! :D

umgd

it makes me giggle when people like eli young band, because some (maybe all?) of those guys were older sigma nu's at UNT when i was a freshman. just kinda weird that they're semi-famous now.

I went last year with my youngest son, I even took him out of school early so we could make Joss Stone, followed by Spoon (who I love) and the KILLERS (who were AWESOME). Then Saturday, Raul Malo, Blue October, Arctic Monkeys, Paolo Nutini and front row for ARCADE FIRE (a religious experience), followed up by Sunday with me watching Lucinda Williams and Robert Earl King to keep our front row spot for Wilco, while my son watched Bloc Party and Ben Kweller. Such a good line up last year (and the year before) even going down to the side stage acts.

I'm just not as crazy about the lineup this year. I would like to see Beck and one of my all time favs Patty Griffin, but beyond that there aren't any that I love. I like Band of Horses, the Raconteurs, and a few others. I heard the Mars Volta puts on a great show, but after Arcade Fire and the Killers, I don't think they can hold a candle. JMHO:)

I'm not going this year... My son isn't pushing it, so I'm not either.

2006 lineup was better too - Massive Attack, the Flaming Lips, the Shins, etc.
2005 was insane with Coldplay, Widespread Panic, Oasis, Death Cab, many great bands!!!

I love the show though, it's really well planned out, the food is good and cheap, there are tons of potty facilities and it's pretty easy to get in and out (except for last year when they had that fire on Friday, that made the lines insanely long).

I'll wait til next year and see who's coming. I'm also going to investigate going to Bonaroo with my oldest before he enters the work force... I've heard that Bonaroo is a bit primitive for my tastes though;)
