My (very close to) Live Recruitment Story
I would like to keep this as discreet as possible…so PLEASE if you do know the school or house I am talking about, don’t say anything! :) thanks a ton!
Before I start…here’s a little about myself! I have been involved in community service and extracurricular activities for as long as I can remember. I am going to be a freshman at a university with a great, but competitive Greek System. My cousin is a sophomore at the same school and had joined a sorority (Prada) her first year, and absolutely loved it. Because of my cousin, I know the reputation of almost every sorority at my school. Which has its downfalls…but I still am going into recruitment with a very open mind! I feel prepared, but I am still very nervous! I have 1 or more rec.’s for every house I thought I wanted to be a part of and know many girls from my high school that were in sororities. I am going through rush with a few of my friends. “Hannah”, who thinks she wants to be a Chanel. And “Cara” who had family in Fendi and was a legacy at Lacoste, but was keeping her options open, like me. My roommate decided she wasn’t going to rush. Probably because she was scared she wouldn’t get into a sorority. I think everyone has doubts and a little fear of rejection, but I still wanted to be in a sorority desperately! Since I am overly obsessed with shopping I will name the sororities after my favorite designers... Missoni Chanel Burberry Lacoste Betsey Johnson Dior Jimmy Choo Fendi Marc Jacobs Prada Louis Vuitton What I knew before recruitment started… Missoni: I knew that this sorority was kind of struggling. They didn’t have much of a reputation. Chanel: This was one of the more popular sororities at my school. My cousin originally wanted to be in this sorority…along with every other girl in the world (or at least it seemed like it). I had a couple recs for this house. Still, I wanted to keep an open mind and didn’t know if it would feel like home to me. Burberry: I hadn’t heard much about this sorority. Lacoste: My cousins good friend was in this sorority. The girls were known to have class. I thought that I may want to be a Lacoste. Betsey Johnson: This house is popular, but known as a huge party house. Which had its ups and downs. I definitely wanted a strong sisterhood, but I do love going out and having a good time. Dior: This house has a bad reputation…I guess you could call it the underdog sorority. I had heard this over and over, but I knew of a girl in it and she always seemed classy and nice. Jimmy Choo: This was also a very good house, but known for being mostly blondes. I knew a few girls in this house and they were all cute, sweet, and…blonde. Which I am not! Fendi: Known as an okay house. Marc Jacobs: From what I had heard, I thought I wanted to be a part of this house. They were classy and their house was pretty. I had a rec. for this house and was really hoping I would like it. Prada: This was the sorority my cousin was a part of. She was living in the house. They had the newest house, but not much of a reputation. But everyone that I had met from this sorority was so nice and funny. They seemed like people I would hang out with, but I still didn’t know if I wanted to be part of my cousins house. I love her, but I wanted to meet all new people. Louis Vuitton: This house was the smart house. I have decent grades, but I certainly am not a 4.0. |
Excited to hear more!

Here is a clue to keep it anonymous:
DO NOT post directly after each night, or people can figure out what schedule you are on...and from that, your school. Keep the dates discreet! :) Good luck! |
Go Betsey Johnson! She is my all time favorite designer. :D LOVE her stuff.
But yay for your thread! It looks like it's going to be a great one! |
Isn't Betsy Johnson actually an AXiD? My sister's one and told me this when she when she joined. Go Betsy!
