When I say "CDs", I'm not talking about selling mainstream stuff at a cheaper price, I'm talking about shitty rap music, where they probably made up the rhymes sitting on a curb in a White Castle parking lot on the corner of Martin Luther King St. at Kingshighway.

sounds like the dudes who always try to sell their CDs with the line "hey miss you like hip hop?"
one time i actually stopped and told a guy i remembered when i fell in love with hip hop. it went totally over his head.
now i just tell them no and KIM.

Ugh....I loathe this about NYC, so many vendors and what not on the streets. My least favorite is the salon packages for fancy haircuts & conditioning treatments. What a rip off!
There's some ppl on the subways who try to sell their poetry. Usually it's awful. And the battery ladies on the subway too with their crazy light up keychains. "Batteria one dolla. Chapstick one dolla."

not all the street vendors are bad. the salon packages are annoying. im not buying a haircut off the street.
the battery/games/DVD ladies are awesome lol. i mean who has a need for "wan dalla" batteries when most people are using iPods? and DVDs for "phiii dollaaaaaa" are hit or miss. usually a miss for me, unless its a movie i really want to see. and even then i wait for someone else to buy it.

Let's not forget the ball and weasel that's all over Chinatown. Also those tiny turtles seem to be popular with street vendors.

LMAO the ball and weasel tail is ridiculous, as bad as the dancing mexican doll. i think its supposed to be a quinceanera girl or something.

Awww yeah. A dad of one of my students was arrested for selling stolen goods down there. Sad.
I haven't been down there in FOREVER. Canal Street = avoid at all costs.

Canal Street is crap now. oversaturated with fake bag sellers and the like. there are only so many plastic necklaces, scarves, sunglasses and watches you can own.
and perfume, lest not forget the perfumes. its kind of a ghost town down there now.
