Coincidence?

I was looking up The House Bunny & came across something that I found interesting. The two writers of the movie, Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah Lutz are the same ones that made the screenplay for Legally Blonde, another movie which features Greek life.

Now to me, I can't see someone writing 2 movie scripts about Greek life if they themselves are not Greek. Can anyone get information on these 2 women? Are they from another Greek organization? Maybe they have something against ZTA. If they are in another sorority, there is no way that ZAZ in the House Bunny looks like ZTA by coincidence & it would DEFINITELY be a deliberate attack on us.

Karen Lutz lists herself as an Alpha Gamma Delta from our (now closed) James Madison University Chapter on her MySpace page and on other websites online. See this article.

A search for Karen McCullah Lutz does not turn up on AGD Sister Search. Nor does the name 'Kirsten Smith'. The pair is not listed on our 'Accomplished Alpha Gams' page, either.

I'm not sure why one would have to be Greek in order to write movie scripts about Greek Life. Anyone can write movies/TV shows about Greek Life.

Pardon the lane crossing, but this has been discussed a fair amount in the thread New movie-making fun of Greeks. You'll find some discussion of the backgrounds of the writers if you start reading here.

This is yet another House Bunny thread and a ZTA axe grinding attempt.

Kirsten Smith went to NYU and transferred to Occidental and graduated from Occidental (there are only local sororities there). But supposedly it has to do with a coed group there.

Actually, Kappa Alpha Theta is the one NPC sorority at Occidental.

Right, but Theta's only been at Occidental since 2004.

I've never seen a picture of Kirsten Smith, but I would guess that she's within the same age range as her writing partner -- and there were no NPC sororities while she was there.

Saw it and it wasn't worth all the drama. The song at the end was cute and would be perfect for Recruitment.

My sister went through recruitment at a large Southern school and she was told that the DZ house on that campus was modeled after the Delta Nu house in Legally Blonde. The DZs said that the director (or producer or writer?) is a DZ and that the Z turned on its side is N, thus Delta Nu.
