University of Tulsa?

Can anyone here give me some info on Greek life a U. Tulsa? A co-worker's daughter is headed there. She thinks she wants to go through recruitment, but her mom is wary. I reassured her that it's a small system (as was mine) and that it wouldn't be the type of campus stereotyped by media.

I did check out their GoGreek webpage, which has tons of info. So I know the sororities are smaller and they have been established on campus for a long time.

I'd like my co-worker to be confident that her daughter will be fine whether she goes greek or not (or even decideds to wait a year). Any thing else I can tell her to reassure her?

TU is a very Greek school. The chapters are housed in these darling houses. (Very small houses with large dormitory additions on the back.) Behind the houses is a field and the fraternity houses back up to the same field from the other side.

Tulsa nightlife blows, TU isn't in a great part of town, doesn't have a great athletic tradition, etc. so being Greek is probably the best way to have an active social life on campus. The campus has grown tons the past few years. Their Greek system has a very good reputation, is very active on campus, and isn't terribly competitive. The chapters on campus are Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta, Delta Gamma, and Kappa Alpha Theta.

If the daughter has any thoughts that she may want to go Greek, I would highly recommend trying formal recruitment at TU. It is not an animal house situation, and the University is very supportive of Greek life.

I graduated from there. pm me any questions.

you really cant go wrong in any of those sororities listed, and formal rush is done very smoothly.

And lay off the sports! Basketball has had success, and football is definitely turned around the past few years. I agree on nightlife; you party on campus, or the few bars within walking distance.
