Is anyone here on Xyzal for their allergies?

It's one hell of a drug.

My doc gave me some samples.

Why? I don't know. I don't have allergies.

I took maybe 4 of them, and threw the rest out.

Did it make you REALLLLLLY sleepy?

It's also prescribed for hives, which is why I take it, less so than my seasonal allergies.

yeppers... actually you're supposed to take it in the evening before you go to bed.

per the website:

Patients taking XYZAL should avoid operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle. Taking XYZAL with alcohol or sedatives should be avoided. Take XYZAL at bedtime. Do not increase the dose due to increased risk of sleepiness.

If I take it at bedtime, I can't really function the next morning. I take it at around 7 or 8 the night before and I still need a nap the next day :(

I don't take it every day, though.

I don't know what my life was like before Xyzal. I was actually able to spend a few nights at people's houses that have animals with it. It doesn't make me sleepy at all.

I've had really good luck with Zyrtec, so I've never had a reason to try anything else.
