Purple, green & gold tux accessories
I think that I've found a source for a PG&G cummerbund & tie. Drop me a note and I'll forward info.

CRASH
BOOM BANG Try this site, it has bow ties, ties, and other haberdashery that may fit your LXA needs. http://www.beautiesltd.com/PRODUCT.ASPX?pn_deptid=6944 |
Interesting
This is a different source than I found. Stripes are available here; the one that I found has a harlequin pattern. Thanks |
Brother Leonard told me that he got his bowtie and vest from a Brooks Brothers store in New Orleans. He also mentioned that the pattern is now discontinued. Howie Brightman (UCLA) has a similar if not identical set and I've heard that Marty Smith was sporting one as well.

'spensive
Though I'm not much of a cumberbund/bow tie wearer, I've still been looking for a regular tie. The only one I've found is campus-classics' $50 tie. Anywhere to get a reasonably priced Purple/Green/Gold one?

Group purchase?

This is a harlequin pattern. http://www.beautiesltd.com/PRODUCT.ASPX?pn_deptid=6944 This is the usual striped pattern If we could get enough folks together, perhaps we could do a group buy. And now that I think about it, with the Centennial coming up, perhaps a quick blurb into the C&C might generate some interest. |

Fifty dollars isn't excessive for a quality necktie |
Why do I suddenly have the image of Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber walking into the room in their tuxes?
|
I seriously would love to see someone in the chapter with the guts to show up at a formal even in a sparkling or shiny gold tux with a purple shirt and green tie and vest... and if they have the guts to do that then they would have no problem also wearing a top hat of any of the 3 colors and carrying a similar cane! Gold or green shoes would be even better!
Why they heck didn't I think of this when I was active? Oh well... I didn't even go to the white rose formal the one year we had it back then... what they heck was I doing that day? |
