Mad Men on AMC

I love love love loooooove this show!!!! And the sexy lead actor.

It was nominated for a whole lotta dern awards, too.

I watched the season 1 marathon this weekend. I think I'm gonna get that on DVD.

Season 2 began last night. I'll have to catch the re-run.

Who else is a Mad Men fan? :)

I just started watching it on On Demand. I got interested because of all the nominations. So far, I like it, it is kind of weird how the "sexual harrassment" laws have changed since then. YIKES! I need to keep watching, I'm only a few episodes in.

I watched the marathon this weekend, too - I had never seen it or even heard of it before and now I'm hooked!

I had watched a few episodes before the marathon and lost track. So I was happy to see a marathon.

I think there was a thread on this show. Can't find the thread but it's also amazing how the much people smoked back then. Good grief.

My daughter is a big fan - she called from camp yesterday to say she forgot to set the dvr for Sunday! I'm catching up thanks to Netflix.

I must be much older than you, DSTChaos - I REMEMBER when everyone smoked like that! (But I WAS a child noticing this . . .)

Excellent show. Since my dad was an "Ad Man" and now I work in an ad agency, I find it fascinating.

I wasn't born until the 1970s. :)

I was born in '64 - so I have all these baby pictures of me being held by people with cigarettes in their hands - ashtrays scattered all over the non-baby proofed house . . . I never wanted to even try one of those nasty smelling things!

ewwwww....

When I was watching last night's season 1 re-run, I thought "I'm sure EVERYWHERE, EVERYONE, and EVERYTHING smelled like cigarettes. Gross."

I'm completely a Mad Men fan.

I keep looking up the new season premiere dates for Mad Men and Entourage.

ETA: This is weird, I'll admit it, but I grew up thinking that smoking in old movies look glamorous, but I think I'm at least as intrigued by the drinking as I am the smoking on the show. The idea of kicking back and having a drink IN the office at the end of the day kind of blows my mind since I'm a school teacher AND live in the Bible Belt where I don't think that happens/happened as much.

The drinking and smoking is still very present in ad agencies. My dad was a chain smoker, which is what caused his death probably. TONS of the "creatives" at all the agencies I've worked at smoke, though it's not as popular amongst the account managers. My current agency taps a keg every Friday or offers bottles, whereas my last agency had a Kegerator and frequently had wine, too.

I just watched the Behind the Scenes. :) I absolutely love this show.

Season 2 premiers tonight. I guess this is a re-premier because I thought it premiered last Sunday.

Bumped because I finally started watching. It's a bit of a trainwreck effect, I don't know that I like it but I can't really stop watching it. It interests me and pisses me off at the same time.

I'm almost done with season 2 now. I love it, but it can be a little slow at times. It's better than most of the crap on TV nowadays though.

Drolefille 08-17-2011 10:14 PM

The slowness doesn't bother me but the sixties are driving me crazy.
