Dress suggestions
Hey everyone, i know there are a million and one forums about this but im still a little skeptical. Im attending a southern school and the website suggests casual clothes for the first day (jeans, shorts , shirts...). I was thinking just to be cautious i would wear a dress but i want to be myself and im a t-shirt and jeans girl so should i keep it casual or dress to impress?
Thanks |

I would go slightly dressier than what the guide says. A lot of schools (like mine) try to make it no-frills and give more casual suggestions. But the PNMs who are "in the know" and come from Greek backgrounds will always be a little more dressed up that what the information says.
For instance, on the first day of our recruitment, all PNMs wear the same t-shirt and they can wear whatever they want on the bottom. The guide suggests jeans or shorts, but many girls choose a denim skirt. They look more put together than the jeans and shorts girls, and that gives them a slight advantage. Just my two cents. |
If you're at UCF, YES, it really has gone that casual. But if you want to wear a cute casual skirt or dress the first couple rounds, you're fine. Just keep in mind that for Round 2, you will be doing some craft projects and may have to sit on the floor. And keep in mind that for the first couple of rounds, almost everyone around you will be wearing khaki shorts or denim skirts and cute tops. So plan to fit into that look somehow in a style you are comfortable with. Capris are fine; poofy cotton skirt is fine-- just don't wear a prom dress, ok?
