Needing help find local alumnae groups for 3 sororities
Hey everybody :) I'm very excited to be rushing in the fall! I have secured recs to all my school's sororities but..
(1) Chi Omega (2) Kappa Kappa Gamma (3) Sigma Delta Tau I have looked at the national websites and couldn't find a local alumnae group or you have to be logged in as a member to access the directory. I also contacted Panhellenic and they told me to look on the NPC website and it would have lists of contacts. For these sororities i didn't find any for Alabama. Can anyone link me to a local alumnae chapter website or point me in the right direction to get in touch with local alumnae that can help? If so i would really appreciate it. |
Panhellenic meant that you can contact the alumnae Panhellenic group in your area (there's a list of them on npcwomen.org) and they will steer you towards the alum group/alums of the particular sorority that can help you. They don't list alumnae chapters individually.
Good luck! |

There isn't an alum panhellenic listed for Tuscaloosa. Have you asked the women you have already secured sponsor forms from if they know women in these 3 groups? When someone asks me to do a form for her, I always ask if she has them for all the groups at that school and try to help her get the others. Most Greek women know others.

have you tried looking on each sorority's national website under alumnae chapters? sometimes they list the alumnae chapters and contact information.

http://www.chiomega.com/alumnae/chap....aspx?state=AL Did it occur to you to also try just Googling? |
Call the panhellenic adviser at the school who will undoubtedly know the local alumnae panhellenic association members. Normally these alumnae panhellenic members assist with recruitment.

I did contact Panhellenic and they told me to look up local alumnae groups on the internet, which is what i did. I also have used google. I actually emailed the president from the alumnae group on the Chi Omega website, no responce yet. Thanks for your help anyways.

Don't get frustrated, RushedinBama. :)
Those alumnae groups that you contact are volunteers so they are not "on the job" everyday. Go ahead and contact anyone else who is listed on their website or try to find a telephone number and call her. She won't mind. Also, have you gone back and asked any of the women that you DID get in touch with if they know any Chi-O's or Kappas? |
