Rec: Collegian or Alumna?
x
|
You may not get an answer outright since this is treading into Membership Selection processes but it surely wouldn't hurt to get BOTH a collegian and an alumna to write recs for you. If the members need a photo with the rec, they should ask you for one.
|
Someone who knows you personally would be able to write a more informative and more personal rec than someone who does not know you, regardless of collegiate or alumna status. If your school is particularly competitive, you should probably get both.
|
some sororities allow recs. to be written by collegiate members-others only want recs. to be written by an alumna. still others will accept a rec. from a collegian, if that rec. is co-signed by an alumna. make sure your college friend's sorority accepts recs. written by collegians, or it may be a moot point.
i have sent in recs. with photos and without photos. unless specified, use your own judgement as to whether you include a photo with your resume'. |
I agree, get both to write recs.
Pictures are a definate help too. Just make sure it shows you in the best possible light (no pun intended). This isn't the time to share those hysterical group shots or ultra sexy photos. (I've seen some pretty ... um ... questionable pix sent over the years with recs. I just wonder "This is how you want us to think of you?") |
I hear you, Zillini, I got one about 5 years ago where the girl was sitting backwards on a chair with the posture and expression like she was about to go into a chair dance. And this was for Bama!
I did not send the photo. |
I can remember when I was Rec Chair, and we got a swimsuit photo with a rec (from a legacy, no less!) that you had to see to believe! I won't go into the gross details, but
