"The First" Debate
 

Do any of you girls know the story behind the development of the "first" sorority? ADpi claims to be the first, however, weren’t they just the first to be "recognized" due to paperwork? I remember when I was a Phi, many of many sisters told us that Phi Mu was indeed the first "Secret society" formed. Several founding sisters couldn't agree with the direction the group was heading, so they formed ADpi. Which is the reason why there are so many similarities between the two sororities... Does anybody know the validity of all this?

As far as I know, nationals isn't disputing second place. So let's all rejoice and be glad in it. I personally don't need to feel first to get my socks rocked.

I think its interesting to know the story behind how both organizations were formed....ADPi will always be recognized as the first due to the filing of paperwork--no one's disputing that. I think the story makes it all more interesting that we could have started out as one organization. I for one had always heard that the founders of both organizations were roommates or some such thing.... :p
