New Founder's Step
Hey Sorors! :)
Hi hope we have some step champions out here that I can tap into. I am "organizing" a step routine and I need a new and creative founders step. Have you seen anything on youtube or has your step team used a creative founders step? If so, please share words, videos, etc, etc. I know the "95 years ago, 22 women...." and "In 1913, there were only 22 ladies." Even if I just had some new words, we can put a new twist to it. Thank you for your help sorors! :D |
There's also "1913 at Howard University...22 women formed a Sorority...." but that might be considered 'old fashioned' by today's standards.
Almost every chapter that I have interacted with has their own Founders Step but Sorors pretty much use the same 3 versions of the words. My least favorite is the version that ends with "it ain't e-i-kee, it ain't skee-wee...it's just OOOO-OOOP, for DST." No need to mention other sororities ever but especially during our Founders Step. What we did is choose 3 steps from our step collection and adjust the steps to fit the Founders Step beat. So after the "Sorors break it down" part (or however you transition beyond the "slap legs and snap fingers" part of the step) we had the three lines doing three different steps. I tried to find something similar on youtube but couldn't. If you have steps that you all do that can be incorporated, go from there. |
My chapter's NEOs did a great version that had slightly different words and an extra verse but of course I don't have a video or know the words....
