Books about Sigma Gamma Rho
Hi Ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho
I’ve being doing my homework by reading the Divine Nine, In Search of Sisterhood, BGLOs in the 21st Century: Our Fight has Just Begun and African American Fraternities and Sororities: The Legacy and The Vision. These books were very informative, however I would like to read a book that is dedicated to Sigma Gamma Rho, which will give me a greater understand of the organization. During my research I came across this title “Behind These Doors A Legacy: The History of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority”, however I can not locate this book. How can I obtain a copy of this book? Or can you recommend any other books that are dedicated to Sigma Gamma Rho? Thank you in advance for any information you can offer. |
I'm not an SGRho, but since I'm awake.... Diamond97, sometimes there are books that are in limited release for a reason. If you can't find it in a commercial bookstore, borrow it from a friend, or find it on www.abebooks.com, it's probably not meant to be read by the public.
As a side note, if you're in the DC area, the author of the most recent AKA history book will be doing a public signing during their centennial. |
Also try WorldCat. This will show you what libraries near you have a copy. good luck!

I just love how she said: Ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho. There are 2 books - part 1 and part 2. I found some of it at a local library when I was doing my research. Diamond97, sending you a PM. |
^^^ I also like how she already read all the other major books BEFORE she posed her question!

Hi Ladies,
Thank you for your help. I followed up on the information that was given to me and I came across an auction on EBay for the books. Volume 2 is being sold for $225 and Volume 1 is being sold for around $275. I wanted to know if these are the true values of the books & what is your opinion on the cost? I tried my local library and they do not carry a copy of either book, matter of fact no library in my state has a copy of the books. Thanking you in advance. |
I have answered your questions to the best of my knowledge via PM as only a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority could. :)
