What is your favorite sandwich?
In keeping with better personal health management, I make a lot of what I eat now- and was just thinking today as I made a sandwich that I have been eating this same exact sandwich regularly since I was a kid and I have never tired of it.
Boar's Head Honey Maple Turkey White American Cheese Sliced tomato Yellow Mustard French Bread (wheat bread these days.) So, what is your favorite sandwich? (yes, burgers and/or restaurant food counts too.) |
Grilled cheese. There is truly no better sandwich. My favorite is the grilled cheese sandwich at TooJay's. I'm so sad that they're located only in Florida. :( Every time I visit friends or family in FL, I always make sure to go to TooJay's.

i LOVE a BLT. not healthy at all, but give me thick-cut bacon with mayo and honey mustard on whole wheat, and im good.
or, if you want to really be grossed out, theres this place called Peanut Butter and Co. that makes this sandwich: PB Bacon Banana Honey Multigrain/Whole Wheat They serve it with milk and carrots. Yum. ETA: i may lose some cool points but Starbucks makes a sandwich, i want to say its chicken salad on multigrain with lettuce, bean sprouts and cranberries. its the effing win. |
Peanut Butter and Bologna.......yummmmmm. :)
|
Grilled cheese. Especially when its the combo of swiss, cheddar, and american.
|
I like to make myself this sandwich, it's a modified version of a sandwich I had at a bagel place that has since closed:
smoked salmon salad (whole foods sells it) sprouts roma tomatoes thin layer of pesto spread on both sides of a whole wheat bagel I always loved the grilled cheese that the DGs at UMD sell on certain Thursday nights. |
sun dried tomato turkey on a croissant. nothing else.
|
Monte Cristo at Blue Bayou in Disneyland!
More mundane choices - When I was in college, Grin's made a cheddar, bacon, tomato and mushroom sandwich - yuuuummmmm. It's no longer on the menu.:( Starbucks has some good sandwiches - believe it or don't! |
Roast beef on rye, lettuce and mustard. The mustard must be hot and spicy.
|
Honey Roasted Thick-Sliced Turkey + Honey Whole Wheat Bread + little bitta mayo and dijaun mustard + lotsa romaine lettuce = sandwich heaven. :D
|
Ham, swiss, with lettuce, tomato, mayo and vinegar on onion bun from Jason's Deli. Yummy!
|
Whole grain bread with nuts in it, like TJ's Whole Grain Flax & Fiber Bread
Large slices of tomato Slice of some kind of white cheese Mayo Chopped fresh basil Mmmmm... |

If I am at home and making my own bag lunch I will make the following:
Salami Mild Cheddar Cheese Challah Bread! My favorite sandwich to make at home for dinner or to get at a restaurant (Because it has to be hot!) Has to be a Cuban!!!!!!! The perfect Cuban Sandwich: Pork Salami Ham Swiss Cheese Mustard Pickles, Thin, sliced long ways... All perfectly pressed on Freshly Baked Cuban Bread! Being a native of Tampa Bay, I took them for granted. Most people in the North part of the state had never heard of such a sandwich! Which sucked during my college years! I fondly remember a time one of my sorority sisters (Also a Tampa native) and me had a craving for a Cuban Sandwich, so we taught the Sub guy at Publix how to make one....lol! |
